Jarred Christmas fronts search for best playground jokes

CBBC has kicked off a hunt to find the nation’s best playground jokes.Avalon’s Liberty Bell Scotland has been commissioned to produce the 50 x 5-minute series The Joke Machine, fronted by New Zealander comedian Jarred Christmas.In each episode, self-styled ‘Joke Master’ Christmas travels to two school playgrounds where children will compete to tell the best jokes. The children who fail to amuse Christmas will receive a comedy punishment.The Joke Machine, due to air this summer, was commissioned by CBBC controller Cheryl Taylor and is exec produced by Liberty Bell’s head of factual Jamie Isaacs.Isaacs said that Christmas added “a special touch of madness and unpredictability” to the series. “It’s a really simple and funny format that all children can take part in,” he added.http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/news/commissioning/liberty-bell-lands-cbbc-joke-show/5071918.article?blocktitle=LATEST-NEWS&contentID=870
